• School is closed and only open for certain students who we have been in communication with. Please stay safe and take advantage of the online education we are providing. Click here for all key communication links and click here for all school communications.
  • Please complete our learning survey by clicking here (sent 18th May).

  • MONDAY 18TH MAY: I hope you are all well and adjusting into new ways of working. All staff at NHS continue to ensure your learning continues either through Google Classroom or through the other prior-arranged ways we have adapted for you. I and the staff are missing school life and we look forward to seeing you soon. I also want to send a shout-out to our Y11 students – we are still here for you and get in touch if you need any support. Please complete our learning survey by clicking here (sent 18th May) to help us respond to your needs. Stay safe!
  • TUESDAY 19TH MAY: Following my recent letter how we are responding to the Government asking schools to make more contact with Y10 students, we are seeing a few messages come in asking for support – which is good to see. Whilst staff will help where we can, I know, for a small minority, there are some who have not shown engagement with school. If you are reading this, I imagine this is not you but my message is this – put yourself and your learning first and don’t be influenced by those who are not keeping up with their studies and consequently be behind when we return to normal learning. For the vast majority of all year groups – a huge well done!
  • WEDNESDAY 20TH MAY: Today is meant to be warm and sunny so that means working outside! We are all working on a number of things in readiness for an eventual return – whenever that may be. It has been great to see a good response from our learning survey and this will help us further support you in the future. There has been talk of using Zoom and FaceTime but I have asked that your teachers focus on the resources and follow-up calls to save any hectic video calls and to help them a little as we have still had students in school. In the meantime – keep positive and focussed on learning.
  • THURSDAY 21ST MAY: Good afternoon – a bit later with my blog today due to the new virtual way in which we are having our meetings now. I’m in a meeting tomorrow with the council about longer term arrangements we need to make to welcome you all back. I hope you are all well, safe and respecting the slightly changed lockdown. You may also be glad to hear that we have continued to improve our school building which will be a nice surprise when you all return.
  • FRIDAY 22ND MAY: Today is the final day of another strange half-term! With this in mind, I hope you can all take some time to spend with your family and enjoy the lovely weather. Your teachers have kindly given me some names of those that that have been consistently engaging with the work been set – a huge well done!

  • Please don’t worry about your child’s transition to secondary school. We are working to ensure we adjust our planning and communication around the current situation. Whatever happens, we will ensure that your child gets a proper and positive start. We are already widening communication channels, in discussions with junior schools and planning possible arrangements for new students joining us in September.
  • A dedicated webpage has been created for families of those children joining us in September. Click here to access the page.
